This was like having a good friend take you to all the best places. We choose the Moeraki Boulders and Yellow-Eyed Penguins Tour because I always wanted to see the boulders, but saw so much more. Teresa (Trii) is not only very knowledgeable about the area (geology, birds, plants, everything), it is also very obvious she loves this place and is thrilled to show it off. She tweaked the tour to be sure to hit the places she was sure would be of most interest to us. Of all the tours taken on our cruise, this was absolutely the best.

This tour was a highlight of my time in New Zealand. The tour included history of Dunedin and, of course, treks along a few of the pristine beaches. Teresa was an attentive and knowledgable guide and showed great empathy with nature and a commitment to ensuring a memorable experience. I found Orokunui to be a place that spoke to the soul! Our guide did not rush any part of the tour and ensured that all participants were involved in every aspect of our adventure. It was a privilege to encounter Mother Nature in all Her glory. Highly recommended. Unforgettable!

My husband and I were the only ones from our cruise ship who signed up with 4Nature on this particular day, so we had a very personalized experience. The day we spent in Dunedin (and the surrounding area) was about the worst weather our guide Teresa said she could remember for several years. It was foggy, drizzly, then rainy, and cold for "summer" in NZ. But despite the weather not cooperating, we still had a wonderful day at the Orokonui Ecosanctuary, Hawksbury Lagoon, and the sea caves near Doctor's Point. We weren't able to climb up to the Organ Pipes due to the weather. But Teresa tried very hard to accommodate and give us other great options instead. She knew that we were interested in birding, and when she found out which species of birds we'd already been able to see in NZ and those we were still hoping to see, she drove us to particular places and took us to areas in Orokonui especially looking for things like royal spoonbills and the rifleman -- which we found. We had the amazing good fortune of running across a mama sea lion at the sea caves near Doctor's Point. Given their small numbers and the fact that most females stay out on the islands not on the mainland, it was incredibly lucky to see this one so close up! Teresa took us to a super cute little bakery where we got some delicious cheese scones and meat pies. She also provided us with drinks, fruits, cheese and crackers, which was very thoughtful. The rain was really coming down at that point, so we picnicked in the van. She drove us through Dunedin so we could see part of the town as well (since our cruise ship came into Port Chalmers, which is several miles from Dunedin). We got to see Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world, and drove through part of the university area. It turned out that there was a ton of traffic in town because Elton John was performing at their stadium that evening; but Teresa talked her way through several roadblocks and got us back to our ship on time. We appreciated her friendliness, thoughtfulness, and resourcefulness. I'd highly recommend engaging 4Nature Tours for an incredible experience around Dunedin, and hopefully you'll get a lot better weather than we had there!

Great tour, great informations shared with our small group (4 persons) in the ecosanctuary, animals, birds and trees.. but also on daily life in Dunedin; on Dunedin history and on moeraki boulders. Great day and nice tea time and nice sandwiches. I had a wonderful day with Teresa.

On December 2, 2019 we spent a most enjoyable day with our 4 Nature Tour guide, Trii, on the 4 Nature Orokonui Sanctuary and Waterfowl Tour. This tour had been well orchestrated. We were picked up at our hotel right on time and with a comfortable vehicle to tour in. Our guide was very personable, good company, knowledgeable about the Sanctuary and its environs, and she even packed us a fresh and tasty al fresco afternoon tea full of New Zealand products. This Tour provided us a most memorable day. It was a great way to experience and learn first-hand about the positive work of the Sanctuary, the beauty of this part of the country and the warm and welcoming personality of a guide who loves New Zealand and all of its Nature. Positive recommendations all round for 4 Nature Tours and for our guide, Trii.
