We arrived by cruise ship from Melbourne to spend just one day in Dunedin. Cruise ships’ excursions tend to be double what you pay for booking your own, so we booked our day’s excursion through Good Company Tours. Our guide, Russell, picked us up at the docks with a compact van as we had just a small group. I can’t say enough about this wonderful company and guide. He was so knowledgeable about the area and he brought us to some really fantastic sites. We had some great beer at Speights too!

Booked last minute for a city bus tour of Dunedin. Special shout out to driver Chris who was very friendly, amusing, knowledgeable and informative. The 2 hour tour is good value for money.

My wife and I like to tour independently. We were on a cruise that docked in Port Chalmers. We selected a tour that provided a transfer from the ship to Dunedin, 5 independent hours viewing/experiencing the beautiful city of Dunedin, and then a 2-hour tour of the Dunedin area on the way back to the ship. Except for a communication gap between the tour coordinator at the port and the driver almost resulting in us not being picked up in town, we had a great day. The tour may not be for everyone, but we loved the private time and the tour.

We booked this Tour through "Good Company Tours" - Bradford-Dunedin with excellent recommendations from friends who have used their service previously whilst on a cruise - and they did not disappoint - from my initial inquiry right through to the day of the tour they were excellent - Communication was fantastic and Taieri Gorge Train didn't disappoint. Highly Recommend Good Company Tours.

We had Russell as our guide on an air-conditioned coach - full bus of around 60 visitors Started with a tour of the city and stops at the World's Steepest Street and the Octagon Finally off to Lanarch Castle and the fog came in making scenic views impossible The Castle Tour was very good (Robin was our guide) although there was confusion and arguments about getting up to the turret for a spectacular view - I suggest Lanarch Castle arrange for some sort of system to allow people to move up and down the very narrow spiral staircase in a fair and efficient manner. I never went up as people kept coming down and communication was lacking regarding traffic flow The fog finally lifted somewhat to allow for some photos of the view Speights Brewery was our stop on the way back and Keith was an enigmatic and knowledgable tour guide who seemed to have some fun with my Aussie beer-loving son (at his expense). A breakdown in communication meant that, with 5 minutes until pick up, we were still on tour without a drop of beer tasted. Keith sped things up and we got to the tasting room with time enough for a few tastings before Russell insisted we get back in the bus! Overall a well organised and enjoyable day!
