Best pint I have had in NZ, nice selection of British offerings, including some strong hoppy numbers (to which I am partial). Nice building and location. The most pubby pub I have been in yet; has made me realise most NZ pubs are actually bars.

This is a lovely pub that offers a good variety of beer but it's not very inviting on a cold day to get a drink. The pub was very cold and unwelcoming would have stayed longer had it been warmer.

Been in here a couple of times with people, and the Duke was converted to an 'English Pub' pub some time around around 2010. It specialises in English beers, and it's been quite tastefully done. I'm keen on brewing, the beer here has come a...More

Beautiful interiors, good beers on tap with an old fashioned style vibe. Chat to the landlord if you can, very passionate about the publican trade. Pop in if you can. No food tho.

Love the new location and the decoration. It was always good, but I cant believe I have waited so long to visit. I blame my son who has taken three years to front up with the graduation shout. Stunning building, beautifully finished - looks feels...More

Grand pub, best tap beer selection full stop. Friendly service and plenty of seating. Looking for a nice quiet spot for a beer and a break. We found it with the bonus of beer heaven! Cheers!

This is a lovely pub. Heaps of English beers, and a range of craft beers also. The décor is great, lots of interesting pictures and posters. The main bar is quite small, but I didn't visit the other areas.

The bar is based on old school and it's decked out in a fantastic old style down to the high ceiling and intricate plaster which has all been absolutely beautifully restored making it look brand new and fresh while at the same time as being...More

This is a pub with an exceptional range of beers which are mostly English with many from the barrel. The Duke of Wellington is so beautifully decorated with no expense spared to restore this historic type building back to a former excellence. Its worth having...More
