Being an all for all star wars fan, I was happy that I got to watch at this cinema. Comfortable seats and it was nice to have a drink whilst we sat and watched the movie. It was great to see and intermisson which meat for us 'die hard fan' did not need to miss because of a toilet break.... More

We were advised by the local tourist office to visit the Fiordland Cinema and it was great advice. The short film is incredibly impressive and the beautiful soundtrack fits perfectly. This 25 minute film will take you to see places which are inaccessible, except by air, and leave you with a much better picture of what one of the most... More

We went to watch a 35 minute film with aerial images of Fiordland National Park which was a good introduction to visiting the area...the wide and comfortable seats were nice too...ten bucks was a bit much for a 35 minute film though

What a great cinema. The best seats ever with tons of leg room and a small table to place your coffee or wine. There is a bar and you can take your drinks in. There is an old fashioned intermission and we saw a great movie. Thoroughly recommended

Saw a flyer for a special film of helicopters flying over the Sounds and we all went for coffee and a movie! We were the only people in the theatre and we highly enjoyed both the content and the coffee! Really clean bathrooms were a bonus!!!

Visiting Fiordland was one of the high point of our trip and seeing this stunningly beautiful film was one of the high points of Fiordland. I'll leave it to you to judge whether the reality or the film is better, but I can guarantee your images aren't better than the cinematography on the film. I say this is a "Don't... More

This cinema was built by a helicopter pilot that made a movie filming Fiordland places that are only accessed by air. He put in a a good sound system and the movie (Shadowland) only plays there. The movie is visual with a sound track but no narrative. It really gives you a feel for this vast and untouched world heritage... More

We say the Fiordland film after our visit to Doubtful Sound, and it was a superb end to our visit in the area. The cinematography is fantastic, and yet it confirms ones view ( from the boat) of how very special the sound is. It only takes a half our to view. Don't miss it. It is a part of... More

This little boutique cinema shows the Fiordland movie Atu Whenua or Shadowlands as it's commonly known on the hour. It's well worth the $10 admission fee to see the stunning scenery of Fiordland that most people do not have access to. We watched it before setting off into Doubtful and Milford Sound. Seeing the film first definitely gave us a... More
