We had postcard weather for our cruise on Milford Sound and on a spur of the moment decision to make the most of the perfect day and fly back to Te Anau via Fiordland/ Doubtful Sound. Shaun our pilot collected us (and another couple) at the end of our cruise, out to Milford airport. Next minute we were up on... More

You like customer service? Not here, they make you call them and sometimes they answer the phone. I am an airline transport pilot from the USA and would never fly a Cessna 172 (Skyhawks which is a training airplane) for hire. The airplane is know as a single engine with poor performance (speed) and poor climb rate. I showed up... More

We (2 couples) took a day trip flying to Milford Sound whilst having a day off the slopes during our stay in Queenstown. Aside from the incredible outstanding beauty of this region, Air Fiordland's service was superb. From booking, arriving and chaperone to aircraft, to the fantastic knowledge and friendly nature of the pilot, we had a fantastic and memorable... More

While visiting Te Anau recently I took the Air Fiordland flight to the Doubtful Sound. Words cannot adequately describe this amazing experience. The vistas from the air provide a look into Fiordland that cann't be duplicated. Glistening mountain peaks, some covered with snow, alpine lakes and beautiful water below. Seeing the mouth of Doubtful sound as it meets the Tasman... More

I took a scenic flight in my last holiday in Queenstown to Milford Sounds and word cannot describe how amazing the experience was. The pilot was highly knowledgeable and entertaining! I am a travel agent in Brisbane, and would happily recommend Air Fiordland to all my clients. I will never be able to go back to long bus trips anymore... More

Our pilot Katy was well informed and certainly showed us Fiordland. We wanted to fly over Doubtful Sound but she combined our flight with another couple who wanted to see Milford Sound so we got both superb. You really do fly in the mountains the glaciated scenery was breath taking. I would certainly recommend this trip.

We flew from Queenstown, landed in Milford Sound, right by the cruise ships, and then took a different plane back to Queenstown. Air Fiordland provides an excellent map and great pilot commentary. We preferred the first leg up to Milford Sound, but to see half-frozen lakes 'way up in the mountains, feeding those giant waterfalls - that was really special!... More

We did the Air Fiordland fly/cruise (Mitre Peak)/ fly package from Queenstown and it was amazing! The views were great, the pilot was very animated and it was a really good flight. The plane is loud, so we couldn't hear much of his explanation of the sights, but there's a map that you take with you that explains everything. The... More

Got a differing angle on the shear size of the southern alps!! Our pilot ensured that he took great care of us and he was very informative. We flew over the incredible landscape, spotting the Milford track, various glaciers and of course the spectacular waterfalls that make the fiord lands so magical. This made me want to come back and... More
