We started from the Rainbow Reach car park and went to the hut by the lake. It took about 3.5 hours round trip with a brief stop at the hut to dry off a little. It rained the whole trip but with all the trees it helped to not get as wet as if we were out in the open... More

We did the 4D3N tramping in the other way starting from Rainbow Reach Carpark - Iris Burn Campsite - Luxmore Hut - Brod Bay Campsite - Rainbow Reach Carpark. Day 1: Rainbow Reach Carpark - Iris Burn Campsite The first day was relatively walking in the native forest, with some open view walking on relatively flat ground. We started about... More

This 3-4-day Walk is a wonderful experience having everything you may expect on such a tramp. You have amazing views on Fiordland NP and the Lakes Te Anau and Manapouri, you walk through rain forests, before you climb above the bushline and enjoying the views. On the way you can visit a fascinating cave and you can conquer several mountain... More

This is a lovely track although we only walked for part of a day and is a great starter for any visit to Te Anau. There are poison traps everywhere for rats and stoats and the result was the forest was alive with bird song that is not heard in some NZ forests.

We were probably lucky to see it in bright sunshine as it was clear for almost all of the four days we were on this hike. The views from the summit of Mt Luxmore were breathtaking, and the short side trip to Luxmore Caves was worth every extra step. The track is mostly very well maintained so the only issues... More

We did the walk in 3 days in the anti-clockwise direction (ending at Rainbow Reach); the last day was the longest as we had to start early but it was mainly flat so it was still manageable. Nonetheless, weather was perfect on Day 1 & 2 and that gave us clear views of the region. A highly recommended hike /... More

Our party of 3 did the Kepler Track over 4days and 3 nights at a manageable pace. There were many who could do it in a shorter amount of time but we decided to take it easy and we were glad we made the choice as we could take our time to enjoy the sights and the sounds that this... More

We travelled clockwise, against the flow. This gave us 2 days to stretch ourselves before the big push up to the ridges on day3. That was a long hot day, but very rewarding. Day 4 was a steady descent allowing us to recover. Another advantage was that each night we met different people rather than sharing bunkrooms with the same... More
