Doubtful Sound was absolutely beautiful! We were really lucky and the weather was great so we cruised all the way out to the opening where it meets the Tasman Sea and got to observe Sea Lions sunbathing!

The spectacular scenery of the area, the evening drive to Manapouri. The pubs and restaurants of Te Anau are well worth staying longer than planned, plus Milford Sound trips from here are the best option. Good campsite Top10 on the front too.

Te Anau is the best place for Doubtful sound. Do not know there are no tours in winter. It is best to check their website
