The Royal Flying Doctor Service Broken Hill Base, Bruce Langford Visitors' Centre is unique because it is one of the few working Bases, located at an airport that is open to the public daily. Visitors can tour the Base and explore the Mantle of Safety Museum which showcases over 88 years of remarkable outback history. The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a charitable organisation. We rely on the generosity of the community to continue our life-saving work. All proceeds from admissions and merchandise sales go towards the purchase of new aircraft and vital medical equipment.

My Nan and I took a visit out to the flying doctors base and loved it! The museum was super interesting and the film was very moving! It is an amazing service in Australia and worth learning about and supporting.

Visited the Royal Flying Doctor base at Broken Hill - amazing history of pioneering medical services to the outback communities and stations! Well worth a few hours to see how they function, how the radio stations were set up and to see the aircraft. Fascinating...More

We were really amazed at the work that the RFDS did and how much it cost to run. The facility at BH is excellent and their service to the outback community is fantastic. Excellent tour and value for money shop

I learnt so much about this wonderful service and the great people who started it and manned it today. It was great to overlook the hanger and see the planes. Well worth a visit.

Great group of people who run it, very friendly and informative. Well worth paying $10 for the tour. The museum and shop are fantastic. Gives me s new admired appreciation for this service

The museum and tour are great and a must see and do if you are in Broken Hill. The staff are great and very friendly and helpful. We loved the entire visit.

As your time is limited I would also recommend taxi, maybe a few of your fellow travellers could share one. Well worth a visit as not all R.F.D.S bases have hanger workshops.
