So visit us now and...Tour a working RFDS Base. Enjoy a talk by our tour guide. View the aircraft in the hangar. Watch a unique film in our 44 seat theatre. Shop for special souvenirs. Explore the Mantle of Safety Museum. Today, Flynn's dream is a vibrant reality, with 23 Flying Doctor Bases and 66 aircraft around Australia. The Royal Flying Doctor Service Broken Hill Base, Bruce Langford Visitors' Centre is unique because it is one of the few working Bases, located at an airport that is open to the public daily. This is a fascinating place where you will quickly learn of the fantastic services provided by the RFDS. It is a lot, lot more than an Air Ambulance & plays a critical role in the Health & Wellbeing of outback residents. A fabulous organisation.

This place is great. You get to go on a guided tour of the call centre, the plane hanger and watch a really great short documentary. They want to update it but I love it's australian charm. There are so many good stories to hear...More

Well organised visit...talk about the operation, walk up to the hangar over view spot..look through the large gift shop...prices are about 20% above town..but that 20% is probably the 'donation' rate. Video is well done. The enormity of the operations, its responsiveness...is quite incredible how...More

Great insight to this operation. It's very worth a visit and make a donation or buy merchandise. The scale of the operation is surprisingly large.

As your time is limited I would also recommend taxi, maybe a few of your fellow travellers could share one. Well worth a visit as not all R.F.D.S bases have hanger workshops.
