Always worth a look
Nov 2021
Whenever we visit Orange, we always try to have a look through the Orange Botanic Gardens. They did not disappoint us this visit. The roses were out in full bloom although a bit rain damaged. It is a nice area where the roses are displayed near the Church building. The pond area is always a nice place to sit down and relax and take in the bushland setting and watch the ducks.

Nice and compact
Dec 2021
Nice and compact, it took us about 30-40 min to walk around the park. Some of the trees are labelled. Nice getaway from the busy crowd.

Eat Botanic Cafe
Nov 2021
Eat Botanic Cafe - A definite must visit. We were two travellers who popped in midweek right after closing time, hoping for a bite to eat and something to drink. We were treated with such kindness and beautiful hospitality .The service is gold standard and genuine with friendly and engaging conversation and at the same time the attention to detail. Thank you Claudia. The food is absolutely amazing. Seriously, they brought out the juicer to make us divine fresh juices with super fresh ingredients and we had Chicken Waldorf sandwiches that were some of the best I have ever eaten ( and I've eaten a few in my time). Dad's sausage rolls with that tomato sauce would easily win awards at any show. Cannot rate this place highly enough. Is there a sixth star? We will definitely be back time after time and I hope you make it a stop off too.

A good half day out
May 2021
Up on a hill outside the city, the gardens are extensive, with different zones for specific flora. Autumn colours were lovely.

Blooming Good
Apr 2021
The wife is a great garden & plant lover , so she was in her element. You pick up a "self guided walk" brochure as you enter and off you go. Plenty of locals walking there dogs on our early morning visit but all responsible owners, so no surprises! The gardens cover 17 hectares and include Australian native plants, exotic trees & shrubs, apple orchard, rose garden, heritage church and a duckpond. Plenty of interesting trees etc. even for me to admire and a really pleasant & easy walk around the site. A good way to spend a leisurely hour or so on a sunny day!

Morning stroll
Apr 2021 • Family
Nice place for a morning stroll. I think it's not a very mature garden, though the structure and feel is nice. The plants are healthy and the gardens are very clean.

Disappointing.
Mar 2021
I love Botanical Gardens, however disappointed. The past drought could have impacted the gardens. Not particularly interesting and only takes a short time to walk around.

Stopped for a coffee at the restaurant/cafe next door. Very friendly service.

Great Open Feel About It
Mar 2021
The gardens are a few kms from the centre of Orange and are worth a visit. Its a relatively young garden but in time it will be an oasis for the town. Its worth it just to walk around the area and enjoy the space. Years ago the Australian Garden at Cranbourne was young but now its quite remarkable. This is where these gardens will be sonn.

Slightly disappointing
Feb 2021
First, one tip, grab the map and follow the directions so that you get some information about what you’re seeing. We may have ended up being disappointed because we paid scant attention to the maps available at the entry, thinking there would be adequate signage as we walked around – there isn’t. There’s nowhere near as much signage as other botanical gardens we’ve visited, either explaining what you’re looking at or pointing you in the direction of different locations. Also, the noise from the close by North Distributor Road doesn’t help. Interesting, but not our most tranquil or enjoyable experience in Orange.
