Charming
Nov 2021
This lovely park is a short stroll from Orange CBD. There's lot to offer - from a Victorian bandstand, to sunken garden, fenery, bird enclosure, swings for the kids, and lots of picnic space. And plenty of shade. Definitely recommended.

Lovely in Autum
May 2021
Great colours during the autumn season, and plenty of seating. Go before the begining of May to catch the begonias.

Brilliant Autumn Colours
May 2021 • Couples
You must not miss this amazing little park in the middle of Orange. It has something for everyone and I couldn’t believe the number of locals and tourists wandering through this oasis of gardens, colors, birds and secret coves. I was looking for a display of autumn leaves and it did not disappoint but you could go at any time and see something different and easily lose an hour or two. Congratulations Orange Council this is a credit to you.

Victorian Era Survivor
Apr 2021
We have driven past Cook Park on many occasions and I finally went, let's have a Captain Cook! Which is Aussie slang for a Look! We were not disappointed at all. Dedicated in 1873 and at 4.5 hectares not overly big, it still fills a great need. And that is a pleasant park area to relax, stroll & look but don't feed, the ducks! With Autumn upon us, the Park takes on another life with vibrant colours. Has all the standards of the eras design with pathways, shade, fountains, bandstand, aviary, hothouse & duck pond. The begonia house was another treat for the wife after enjoying the Bathurst one. The kids playground was well attended & being well enjoyed. The Aviary was a bit run down & the birds not overly impressed I thought? I also thought that the Park facilities were the cleanest I have ever seen, a real tribute to the staff, take a bow! Loved the historical guns displayed at the Park entrance gates. Go & Enjoy when in Orange.

Peaceful Space
May 2021 • Couples
What a beautiful park, particularly at this time of year, with the big deciduous trees changing and leaves falling. The father and son Cook team created an incredible legacy. So many pretty spaces. So many places to sit quietly. The park was full of littlies and their parents or grandparents, which is as good a recommendation as any. My only beef is the avery: birds should be “freed to the chains of the skyways” (Dylan). Tear it down.

Cute little park
Apr 2021 • Family
The park is only 4 hectares bit felt so much bigger. The beautiful Autumnal colours are on full display in the mature trees. The park is clean, spacious and lots of families were enjoying the place. The greenery and conservatory are cute. There are depressed looking cockatoos inside the aviary, so I left feeling sad about that.

Give it local name

The local original inhabitants of this land must be honored. Honor it by giving this park a local name in original people's language.

Beautiful Oasis in Orange
Mar 2021
The town of Orange was a absolute eye opener for us on a recent road trip. The city is grand with wide tree lined streets, with Cook Park a miniature botanical gardens within the main precinct. Some fantastic old trees and a glass house of begonia's ...all magnificent. All very well maintained and looked after. Recommend a visit.

Just a local park
Mar 2021
Probably it’s not the best season yet so it’s quite ordinary, nothing special at all. I don’t think worth a trip to visit the park, it’s just a place for people who lives around corner to have a sit or stroll.
