HUMPBACK WHALES MIGRATE ALONG THE EAST COAST FROM MAY TO NOVEMBER.

Port Macquarie Cruise Adventures operates 3 different styles of cruise boats and is the longest established privately owned cruise business in Port Macquarie.

Our largest boat, Discovery 2 (54 pax) was built for the Murray River. The shallow draft allows us to navigate to impossible places thru 2 national parks. See wetlands, endangered species of birds and dolphins on most trips.

We care for the environment and are actively involved with marine mammal rescue and research.

We had a 2pm, 2 hours cruise which I thought was probably the best amount of time.. Not to long, boring but not to short. We saw really beautiful dolphins and the tour guide was some what informative however fairly dull and sounded tired and bored. The boats seating arrangements was one of the worst parts, seats face into the... More

Thanks for the review. Unfortunately a lot of families with children come on cruises in the peak school holiday times and they are probably just having fun. This is the first such comment on our seating so I will take note. More

What they don't tell you is that after they leave you at Sails restaurant for lunch, a taxi is to take you back to town. We were told by the boat crew taxi pickup was to be at 1.45pm but 12 people were left out in the sun till 2.30pm. Cruise Adventures response was "it was out of our control... More

The cruise you booked on starts and ends at Sails Resort (by Rydges) where a buffet lunch was served in the restaurant. You chose not to take your own car to Sails for the start of the cruise. As a courtesy we booked a taxi to be at our expense as courtesy transport for a 5 minute trip back to... More

We went on two cruises with these guys this week and found it lovely and relaxing! The Eco-cruise up Limeburners Creek and the Sunset Cruise which follows the Hastings River and a couple of the canals. The seating could have been better organised into 2s and 4s as when we got on everyone was sitting spread along the sides but... More

We went both whale watching and on the sunset river cruise with Port Macquarie Cruise Adventures recently. Both were very well run, with friendly staff. I was escorting a group of delegates from China, all of them loved the experiences. Thank-you. Keep up the great work.

Our friends who have used this service repeatedly gave high reviews of past trips and of an older and wisened captain who shared much information on whales and natural history. They always saw whales. But this week was my first time. And it was a dry run with a middle aged pilot that brought us back after 70 minutes (we... More

After the end of October the whales are almost gone. We do a whale & dolphin patrol cruise at a price cheaper than whale watching price in season. The brochure states "Up to one hour" and "up to 5 miles offshore". There is no mention of bird watching but there are hundreds of terns on pelican island in the river... More

We booked a whale watching tour with the big boat. However, when it started they told us that we go with the wet and wild tour on the speed boat. Not what we booked! No one told us during booking that the big boat was under repair. Bad management performance!!! We decided to do the tour with the speed boat... More

Thanks for the review. We have 2 whale watching boats and the smaller inflatable RIB handles the rougher conditions better. You accepted that the faster smaller boat was going on that day and you chose to continue on the cruise rather than getting a refund or rescheduling. Whales are scarce after the end of October and you rightly said the... More

An absolutely fantastic experience ticked off our bucket list. The captain of our vessel John and his partner Sue run a very professional business ensuring the best experience and very knowlegable commentary just adds to this. We had 2 representatives from ORCA on board our vessel who also added to the commentary. All in all we saw about 6 whales... More

It was unexpected fun. We thought we would see whales, but wow they where so close i felt like I could touch them. The crew where very helpful and the music on the ride back to the dock really added to the overall fun experience. Must do!

We had a lovely time spotting whales and a dolphin too! Boat was so different to the huge commercial boat I've been on in other places, such a clear uninterrupted view and lovely staff. Thank you.
