From humble beginnings I have been pleasantly surprised on a recent visit just how this museum has grown and developed. The displays have grown to the extent the staff tell me some items have to be stored and brought out for particular themed displays. The only shame is that the opening hours are limited. If you like history, especially local... More

They change due to the growing number of those available It has a strong local flavour and well worth a visit' Lovely park,... More

This museum is small but the information is great. It shows the history of the Wollengong with the guide is perfect. They explained everything. There are many display and photos for you to enjoy. Entrance fee is $4 which is reasonable.

I like this museum but it is only small, so may not meet the expectations of some types of traveller. I found it very interesting, however especially the old photographs.

We visited this museum late last year, and loved it. I LIVE in this town, and had not seen it for about 36 years!! We had our 8 yr old granddaughter with us, who was intrigued with the class room. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Goes to show that we also need to look closer to home, sometimes!

I've taken groups of Cub Scouts (8-11) to this museum a couple of times, and they've always enjoyed learning about Wollongong's early settled history. The curators have put a lot of effort into presenting the building "as it was" and really do set the scene for what life was like for our pioneering forefathers/mothers.
