All the streets in the CBD in Ballarat are wonderful to walk through. The city that gold built, through hard work and sacrifice. Lydiard st north in particular is a great place to visit for the houses alone.

The Architecture in this street and around the corner in Sturt Street is excellent and takes you back one hundred years or so.Well worth a stroll along the street if in Ballarat.

Lovely street, but over Christmas/New Year there is a jazz convention held here with hundreds of visitors, BUT there are very few restaurants open. The owners are missing out on some very good business.

Well preserved old buildings along Lydiard Street and most of them are still in service. These old buildings are beautiful.

We stayed at The George Hotel on Lydiard Street, Ballarat. The street takes you back in time. I do believe that some episodes of Doctor Blake were filmed on this street.
