Amazing Views
May 2021 • Couples
Great 360 degree view of the City of Bunbury and the ocean.
Limited parking, so a good idea would be to park at the beach and walk to the lighthouse. Steep hill to get to the lighthouse, with the option to either view Bunbury from ground level or you can climb the lighthouse to view the ocean as well

5K Bunbury Lighthouse Run
May 2020
The Bunbury Lighthouse is not open and you can only view it from the outside. The lighthouse can be seen from the Marlston Hill Lookout Tower or if you want to get up close, just park at Wyulug-Rocky Point.

Alternatively, if you are staying on Ocean Drive, better still take a walk. Our family took the opportunity to go for a 5K run from the Ocean Drive Motel where we were staying to the lighthouse and back. A bonus is that you will get to also enjoy the varying views along the coast of Ocean Drive.

Nice Walk to the Lighthouse
Feb 2020
The Bunbury Lighthouse is worth the hike from the adjacent parking lot.
While you can't actually climb into the lighthouse we did get a view from the surrounding deck.

Standing tall
Dec 2019 • Family
Surrounded by a fence and dense housing the lighthouse stands tall amongst city landscape. Hard to get to but is still magnificent in its own right

Chequered Light
Sep 2019 • Friends
A great view can be had of the Lighthouse from Marlston Hill Lookout. But there are other perspectives too. Unable to be accessed as it's surrounded by a fence meaning it's still in operation today.

Interesting
Sep 2019 • Solo
This is a lighthouse very different to any other I have seen. It’s black and white Chequered exterior makes it stand out. There is no parking at it as unlike every other lighthouse I have been too, it’s in a residential area. It’s not open to the public. You can easily view it from the lookout.

It's a lighthouse, but that's all
Aug 2019
People often get this confused with the nearby Marlston Hill Lookout, which has steps you can climb. I've visited both, and while the Marlston Hill Lookout is worth a visit, the lighthouse isn't. It is locked, and there is no public access, so it can't be entered or climbed. You can only look at it from the outside, and while it has a striking black and white appearance against a clear blue sky, it's otherwise unimpressive. The beach in this area is fairly nice, but I preferred parking at nearby Rocky Point, and exploring from there, or just heading to the nearby Marlston Hill Lookout, which at least has adjacent parking - the lighthouse has no parking.

Not the tallest lighthouse going around but does its job I expect ! Looks over lighthouse beach and would offer good views if open to the public but no info on our stop to indicate same ? Look & see only !
