Interesting drive

We drove this road to access local scenery. Excellent road to the coast. Love Margaret River, there is always something to see or do.

We weren't aware of this being a wonderful route option but chose it to get off the Bussell Highway for a change. The flora was astonishing, the karri forest grove was breth-taking but why isn't it signposted? We are pretty good a spotting tourist signs & reading maps and brochures but we completely missed the parking and photo opportunity in... More

Just love the drive and especially with the wonderful Karri grove at the southern end. Little farms , Roos, deer farms, emus, majestic trees and pretty scrub. Eagles in the sky and kestrels. Black cockies and birds aplenty. A truly lovely relaxing drive with the mottled shadows and hardly any cars when we were there.

This winding road provides a beautiful view of forests, vineyards deer farm and other attractions. The driver needs to pay attention to the road as it is very bendy and has shadows across it from the trees, making visibility difficult at times.

This road connects to Dunsborough (Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse) in the north to Augusta (and on to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse) in the south. We were based at Gnarabup so we did the South one day and the north on the way back to Perth on another. This road covers heaps of wineries, caves, farms, deer farms and roads that lead to... More

Joins Margaret River to Gilgara Resort ,River Glen Chalet and Gnarabup ....speed limit is a bit high for a narrow road though .Watch out very carefully for kangaroos crossing it at night ,too !!

What's not to love? Driving along this road (presumably named so based on it linking the various local caves rather than the French 'wine caves'), the great scenery is supplemented by an amazing array of wineries (plus a few other places) to visit. Not to be avoided.
