This is a fantastic artists enclave, with studios and shops, as well as restaurant and teaching facilities. What vision of the founder, who pushed it through when the Quarry was for sale. We visited in the a.m. around 10; not all the artists were at work in their studios, but there were a few interesting people making lino-prints, and a... More

I took a few school age children for a visit, and really enjoyed the variety and skill of the arts and craft work here. It was awesome to see some of the local artists working at their creations, and be able to have friendly conversation with them. They happily answered our groups questions, encouraging the children to be creative and... More

Looking for local artist in their studio. This is where you will find them. A little run down in the all the buildings but great location and lovely walk amongst the forest and a bonus waterfall at the back. We found some nice local gifts here too.

This quirky place tickles my sense of excitement. Frankly.... if I'm bored need stimulation I head up here. I simply stroll around all the buildings absorbing the vibrant colour. pots and atmosphere. It's free to walk through and does something to my sole. Simply makes me feel good. Even if it is pouring with rain to see the colour is... More

We visited this site a few months ago in the belief it would be a vibrant art centre in the footsteps of Yvonne Rust who established it a few decades ago. We were disappointed to find that it was almost commune like, falling apart and structurally unsound in places. It was all quite depressing. With local Council backing and financial... More

Situated in a dead end road not far from the main highway, we went there on a rainy Sunday morning and were almost alone. There is lots of artists' workshops to see and visit, a lot of outside art and a small shop.

An interesting collection of art studios, artists and volunteers. We especially enjoyed talking with the sales clerk in the store - a volunteer who was a wood turner. He was very helpful in explaining the art coop and the various studios. Didn't get a chance to talk with other artists, it was too early in the morning apparently. Not a... More

This is an example of something beautiful being made out of the rough landscape of a once working rock quarry, and all through voluntary effort, determination and community pride. Volunteers have been working in difficult conditions for several years, inspired by a person with a horticultural interest who could envisage a transformation in to a beautiful park. He ad his... Great people, so much art and a fine garden. Neat place to relax and be inspired. Swap ideas, thoughts or buy yourself a treat.
