Impressed by the friendly helpful volunteers

The volunteers found us a carpark and suggested the best route to view the falls and as we left offered us freshly baked scone each

Another must see when visiting Whangarei. The walk down to the bottom of the falls is lovely. Iif you want you can extend this walk as it links up with other walking tracks, which are great for families but recommend you leave a car at the other end if you don't want the long walk back again.

This nice tall waterfall made a nice stop on a walking circumnavigation of Wharangei. Lock your car if you drive there. seems to be some theft.

Stunning place to visit. Bubbling brook, water holes, giant trees, peace and tranquility. Falls are beautiful. Walk from A H Reed Park to the falls. Much fuller experience than driving to the falls themselves. A must visit.

The falls themselves are amazing, make sure you walk down to the bottom of them. The walk from there is not so exciting, some nice kauri trees but not as spectacular as the Waipoua Kauri Forest. There is a warning about the state of the water from the health department. The environment was lovely to have our morning coffee at

Despite being summer and there not having been much rainfall the falls still had a good amount of water in them. There were several vantage points to see the falls and you could walk down to the base of the falls for some lovely views and a secluded lake. This attraction is free and has good toilets on site

We were pleasantly surprised by this place because it's right within a residential area. There is a new, clean, wheelchair accessible unisex toilet block, also with a drinking water tap. The falls are stunning and water flow seems to have picked up since reviews written last month. Spend an hour having a well earnt break from the road and enjoy... More

Whangarei Falls is surprisingly in a built up area just metres from the main road. Good carpal for all types including campervans. There are toilets there too. For the less energetic there are some lovely viewing decks a short walk down a concreted pathway from the car park. There is a lovely grassed area with some picnic tables. Took our... More

Outstanding views from the top of the viewing platforms. Follow the easy track down amongst the native forest and then get a breathtaking view of the falls from the bridge. We went swimming and were showered underneath the falls - it was incredible. Water was mild and further swimming spots along the path were just as amazing.
