A beautiful walk especially on a sunny day! The views are fantastic, you will see Seals, cows, sheep and many birds! It's not a challenging hike but can take half a day if you want to take your time and enjoy the views a little! Would highly recommend it to anyone! We had the best day there.

This is a great coastal walk - stunning views and assorted wildlife (seals, birds ...). The interpretive panels are helpful and the walkway is well-maintained and not too demanding. Plenty of free parking!

Point Kean, the base of the walkway had dozens of seals when we were there, the day before the earthquake - at low tide you can walk on the rocks and get up close, when the tide is in, they swim right in front of you. Gorgeous creatures to observe, they are quite active. The walk to the top of... More

This walk takes you around the edge of the peninsula, offering stunning views toward the sea and close encounters with resting seals, as well as a host of NZ birdlife. Nothing too strenuous, and the vistas are well worth the effort requires. If you're in the area, this hike is a no-brainer!

There's plenty of free parking at the start of this track, or alternatively it's possible to walk from the centre of Kaikoura to it. Although the car park was busy, most people were staying by the shoreline photographing the seals. As we're coming to expect now in New Zealand, there were excellent interpretation boards at the start of the track... More

After crossing over from North Island, we drove from Picton, checked into the motel and then drove to the car park by the seal colony. We took a late afternoon walk along part of the peninsula and back again. The scenery all around is breathtaking - sea, mountains, cliffs, wild life

The weather really played a part in our enjoyment of this walk. It was cold and windy and it created rough seas, and combined with the snow-covered mountains - it was wonderfully scenic.

An easy walk with breathtaking ocean views. We drove to the point kean carpark and walked up a fairly steep climb for 5 minutes before reaching the top. The walk brings you along the plateau's edge, observing the sea and rock features amidst the sea breeze. We turned back after 30 minutes but it was a short yet enjoyable walk.... More

... and a chance to spot seals and other maritime animals. In the beginning, the walkway was not really nice to walk since you have to walk along the street ( approx. 20 Min). Once you reach the peninsula you can climb up a hill and enjoy 360° scenic views of the fascinating area.

We didn't had much time and arrived at the end of the day but we still had a nice walk. Enough seals and scenic views. One seal stole the show because he was sleeping on the walkway. Nice pictures!
