Animal lovers enjoy spending time with our majestic Llama. They are fascinating animals to spend time with. Wonderfully intelligent, but with a shrewd cleverness. We offer two lengths of trek: 1 hour or half-day: HALF-DAY TREK (most popular) - Kaikoura Bay beach walk - FIVE tours in one - free entry to Fyffe House Museum, visit seal colony, free drink and cake, free entry to Kaikoura Farm Park. ONE-HOUR TASTER TREK - to the nearest river with abundant wildlife and preserved native woodland.

Make sure you do this!! Meeting at the Kaikoura i site, we met our llamas and had a briefing before setting off on a beautiful coastal walk. They are such beautiful creatures and it was great to learn a bit about them and bond with them on our walk, we were all sad to leave our llama by the end!... More

To get the negative out of the way, we booked through the I-Site for an hour trek and there was some miscommunication between Kevin and his wife. So when we rocked up Kevin was out and his wife had no idea we had booked. We were left to wander around by ourselves and it was about 20 minutes before anyone... More

Booked this for our last day in New Zealand. One of the more unusual activities on offer and certainly unique in Kaikoura. Owner Kevin took us out with two Llamas and gave us all the instructions to handle them properly. He was very accomodating, allowing us plenty of photo opportunities and answering any questions we had. On route we stopped... More

The llama trek is a charming 2-3hr walk along the Kaikoura beach with a llama carrying your belongings and a few stops at the Fyffe house, seal colony and the optional Kaikoura farm as well as morning tea. The llamas are very comical and lovable and love to stop regularly to munch on leaves and grass! The trekking groups are... More

Had a lovely walk with my llama "Hero". The tour was very informative about Kaikoura, llamas and New Zealand in general. Once the tour got going and the guide (owner) felt comfortable with you, it was very pleasant. Fyffe House was very interesting. Views were incredible. Highly recommend, especially if you love animals. Llamas are so cute!

I did not know what to expect at first, because my girlfriend talked me into doing a lama trekking. When the lama’s arrived I was surprised about the size of them! I expected something as a walk with a dog, but I was very wrong. Instead of just having the animal at your side while you enjoy the wonderful surroundings,... More

Highly recommend the half-day trek! Kevin & Lynn were fantastic with prompt emails setting up a time that worked for me. The half-day trip includes entry to the Fyffe House whaling museum as a stopover during the trek, and ends with reaching the seal colony. Kevin was great with teaching us about the llama as we walked and overall a... More

This llama trek is wonderful, a definite highlight of my time in Kaikoura. Kevin and Lynn are great and provide insightful knowledge about llamas. Kevin is a pleasant and humorous guide for the trek. The llamas all have their own unique personalities and it was a pleasure to get to know my llama pal for the day, Dromy, as we... More

My wife and I really enjoyed walking our llamas along Kaikoura's beautiful coastline. We learned a lot about the history of the area, made friends with these interesting animals, and enjoyed some great scenery with our friendly and informative guide. Highly recommended.

Having experienced Whale Watching last time we visited Kairkoura, we chose the Llama Trek beach walk as our focus for our visit. We enjoyed the option to lead 'our' llama and to learn more about llamas, how they relate to this experience and how to make that experience work for both of us.A great opportunity to do something different and interact...
