We loved this experience and can't rate the company highly enough. They weren't particularly hopeful about finding whales on our trip and explained the reasons for this before we left. They also gave us the opportunity to cancel and have a full refund which we thought was very fair. We chose to go anyway and were very glad we did... More

Unlike most of reviewers, our son specifically chose to experience the Whale watch this way as he wish to see the whole body of the whales rather just the flick of the tail. I was originally a bit nervous about flying in a small airplane but it turns out to be super impressive. The flight was absolutely smooth and we... More

Like lots who have already reviewed, this wasn't our first choice for seeing the whales. We had stupidly left booking anything to the last minute and the day before our options were limited to a flight rather than a boat. However we were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to do it on a lovely sunny autumnal day with great... More

A group of 6 of us took a flight which was absolutely brilliant! We saw dolphins and a whale, as well as Kaikoura and the peninsula from above, and - on request - we got to see the post-earthquake landslips along the SH1 which brought the scale of the quake to life. The flight was smooth and wonderfully scenic, and... More

Our positive experience started with them answering an e-mail with a question within minutes. They were very accomodating and managed to give us a seat in a later flight, since our bus from Chirstchurch took much longer than expected because of bad weather. They also provide transport from kaikoura centre for a very small fee. Once there, both the pilot... More

Our pilot Edward gave us a very interesting 15-20 min introduction about the whales in Kaikoura and why they are especially passing by there. After a short safety introduction we started the flight, which itself is worth the money in my opinion (if you have never flew with such a small aircraft). We searched a while for the (sperm) whale... More

The flight was a once in a lifetime experience.. we were lucky enough to see two whales, one of whom hung around for quite a while. Seeing such magnificent creatures on their own turf was a magical moment which we won't forget any time soon. I was initially apprehensive about whale watching by air (as opposed to by boat). Though... More

We think this 30 minute flight is probably the best way to see the whales. You obviously don't get as close as the boats but the perspective is brilliant. We saw sperm whales and a humpback that obliged with two breaches as it played with it's dolphin mates. While Kaikoura recovers boat bookings are pretty full and flights seem to... More
