Went with 2+2. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great displays giving a glimpse back in time for the whole region. Extensive range of items and well presented in various buildings (plenty of walking and stairs). Lots to keep the kids engaged and even some items to try like quoits and stilts. Highlight was the working demonstrations of wood working and... More

We had this place nearly to ourselves on a steaming New Year's Day. It was a great way to spend a few hours with three kids aged 7-11. The guide spent loads of time explaining different displays and was very patient with two girls who enthusiastically experimented with different colour combinations for the rope making. There was a great range... More

This was one of the most interesting places I've visited for a while. I love the idea of being able to be married in the little Church there. You really should check it out if you love history.

A great thing to do if you're looking for an outing in Hervey Bay. Have been here about 3 times, is interactive as you can walk into different houses and sometimes there are even live demonstrations which is sure to amuse children. Overall a very interesting place that has some of the earlier buildings including a school and a train... More

Before entering we didn't have high expectations but that changed immediately. What a great attraction, great for the children of today's generation to see how yester year lived. So we'll layed out & presented, highly recommend a visit, $10 for adults & $3 for under 14's for 2 hours of bringing back those old memories for some. Would highly recommend... More

The rope making display was great. A lot of effort has gone into presenting buildings and displays to show life in an earlier age.

You can see from the setting and quality of the museum that care and love go in to its maintenance and improvement. The people who are a part of the museum as volunteers really care about the place, the history and the artefacts. The kids love it!

Visited the Museum today with my grandchildren. We received a friendly welcome and were provided with information regarding exhibits. It is a well maintained museum and a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. It is located not far from the esplanade and well worth a visit whether you are a local or visitor.

What a great place to visit in Hervey Bay. A great collection of local history as well as a vast array of everyday items now long lost, but here remembered for always. Allow at least a couple of hours to fully enjoy. A tribute to the volunteers who help to maintain and record our past. Well worth the entry fee.
