Spectacular all year - see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the wet season. The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season

Andrew from The Scenic Flight Company Kakadu took us out over Kakadu, did a couple of turns around Jim Jim to admire and get a tonne of photos. Absolutely gorgeous. You cannot get in there by vehicle in the wet season.

We went to Jim Jim Falls in the Dry season during 3 day tour through Kakadu. We took a 4WD bus down to the beginning of the hike in with our group of 14 and began our hike in at about 8am. The walk in...More

Beautiful walk that is quite easy to start with but requires climbing over large boulders for the end part. This would be challenging for those that are not fit and agile. The falls were not running but nevertheless this place is put magic. There is...More

What a walk to get to the end, a hard rough hike over lots of rocks but well worth the hike. We also stayed at the garamarra camp ground and that was great, a bit rough but great with the ranger telling us stories all...More

56 km of gravel road but only the last 6 km are 4wd .Walk to the beach pool and plunge pool are easy enough - about 50 min . Remember the falls typically dry up during the dry but it is still DEFINITELY worth a...More

I loved our trip to Jim jim falls, some may not enjoy it... it is a challenge to get there, but I think well worth the effort. The corrugated road is the first bit of the journey, bone jarring...this takes about 1 hour. Then you...More

My Family and I did a Spirit of Kakadu Adventure Tours in Kakadu. It was a great way to see the beauty of Kakadu in an adventure style. Though climbing the rocks and boulders was somewhat tough, it was well worth the effort to get...More

Most of the road to Jim Jim is a corrugated dirt road easily accessible by 2wd but the last 10kms from the campground onwards is 4x4 only. You have to walk 900meters from the car park to get to the falls, which involves climbing over...More

The walk in is only 900m but it's not a walk in the park but doable. Two of our crew did it in bare feet though this isn't recommended! It's a great way to have fun boulder climbing and the swim at the end was...More

Kakadu is very civilised and they bend over backward to cater to the tourist. We went for 3 days and stayed 8...and could have stayed a month. You can see a lot with a standard car, and yes absolute access. The road are... More
