This was a wonderful bike ride. We did the Bright to Wangaratta with overnight at Mytrleford. The bike track on both trails was excellent. Great stop off's on the way. I can't say enough about this attraction. Great way to exercise with seeing the Alpine sights.

Cycled from Bright to Wangaratta, via Beechworth, with my family and would highly recommend the trip, especially in better weather!

We - mum and four kids aged 5,7,9 & 11 - spent seven days doing the rail trail, staying in Wangaratta then Everton, Beechworth, Myrtleford to Porepunkah. We intended to camp along the way, but cabins were infinitely more comfortable after a hard days ride, and not that much more expensive in most places. The highlights were: Beechworth (accommodation, eateries,... More

27 December 2015 I rode this trail as a solo rider over three days and it was just lovely. I had minimal preparation for the ride and was a bit nervous that I wouldnt make it - but it was fine! I rode Wangaratta - Myrtleford the fist day - a very pleasant ride that was a great introduction. The... More

See some of north east Victoria's beautiful scenery on the ride from Wangaratta to Bright on the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. From the flat beginning in Wangaratta, though to the hilly terrain around Myrtleford, and then onto flatter land heading to Bright, the ride really does offer something for everyone. It's generally suitable for all levels of riders, and... More

We had a wonderful ride over several days. Our route was Wangaratta- Beechworth- Milawa- Myrtleford and Bright. We carried our clothes in panniers and stayed in motels or cabins. The path is in excellent condition. It is relatively flat except with a 15 km uphill on the spur to Beechworth (but a great downhill the next day to rejoin the... More

Rode the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail on the ANZAC Day long weekend with Snowy River Cycling (see separate review). Meeting at Wangaratta, we bused to Bright and then had a short rode (31kms) to Myrtleford for an overnight stay. Day 2 (51Kms, including side trips) was the most demanding with the 16km climb from Everton Station to Beechworth -... More

wang to beechworth to myrtleford to bright to gapsted - about 160 km over 3 days riding - travelled with some much more energetic cyclists but paced myself for a successful (but fast) ride that I could recommend - accom and food options extensive (at major centres)

Our group of 9 adults, aged 54-62, broke the Rail Trail up into 3 sections as most of the group were only social or very occasional riders. All of us made the distance quite comfortably, as we organised our rides to avoid the big hill up to Beechworth. We used Geoff at Bus & Bike on all 3 days -... More

We were married in Bright recently and decided to ride the Rail Trail for our honeymoon. We booked accommodation in advance in each town and had a marvelous time riding from B & B to winery to cafe and stopping wherever it pleased us. The trail itself is in very good condition and there wasn't too many other bicycles.
