The 14,655 ha Warby-Ovens National Park is characterised by three distinct vegetation communities - the granitic hills and woodlands of the Warby Range, the Box-Ironbark of the Killawarra Forest and the Redgum forest and wetlands of the unregulated Ovens Heritage River. Together they provide an important link from the alpine foothills to the Murray River, protecting some of the state's most significant bushland. The Victorian Government created Warby-Ovens National Park, along with other new and expanded parks and over 200 conservation reserves, in June 2010. Picnic at Ryan's Lookout (where the views are exceptional), Brien's Gorge Falls, Pine Gully and The Forest Camp - all have barbeque facilities and picnic tables. Walk through the managed tracks, bike ride the Pangarang Lookout Walk or Ridge track, or take a scenic drive. There are basic campgrounds at Wenhams Camp and The Forest Camp with pit toilets and barbecues, but bring your own drinking water. Warby-Ovens National Park is 240km north east of Melbourne and 10km west of Wangaratta. It is best accessed from Wangaratta via Wangandary and Yarrawonga Roads.

We had a delightful say exploring some if the look outs and waterfalls - which were superb after the recent rains. Very picturesque NP kept clean easily accessible and the walks we did were family friendly with lots to interest the kids. Glorious sunshine showcased everything beautifully including the spring wildflowers

The Warby-Ovens Conservation Reserve, is a good spot within the National Park with good walking track plenty of kangaroo's and a few different areas to Camp, some assessable with small caravans. Yes it has a toilet. One lovely clear summer night I was sitting there and notice that you are just beside one of the flight paths, between the Melbourne... More

Some beautiful, peaceful tracks that offer some wonderful views of Wangaratta and the distant snow fields. When I get a beautiful day and a few free hours, I like to climb the Sunrise track, often stopping for lunch or a snack half way. The path has a bit of a climb, but once up, it continues more or less flat... More

Been wanting to visit the Warby-Ovens National Park to walk and Mountain Bike for many years and I finally managed to lock in a day and a half at the Wenhams camp. A beautiful camping environment with clean drop toilets, good flat tent and camper trailer sites, information board, fire places and several picnic tables. From Wenhams camp the "Friends... More

I drove from SA specifically to spend a few days in this beautiful National Park. Some great hikes and bird watching areas here. Wenhams Camp and Forest camp are great walks along with walking along any of the fire tracks. Just take your time and notice all the different bird species to be seen! Such an awesome place!

We went to do walk the Friends Track with a detour to Kwat Kwat lookout. The signage at the start (Wenhams camp) was okay and off we went. Unfortunately that was it for signage. We cam across a number of different intersections with other paths but none had signage. Luckily we had a mobile with reception and was able to... More

Beautiful. Very quiet no car sounds. Saw a wallaby and many kangaroos. Great tracks with lots of signage. Many different ones to choose from depending on ability.

Why travel hundreds of miles to bush walk when you can do it in your own backyard..lots of native flora and fauna to observe with light moderate and steep climbs.
