Basically for your £80 a head you get a 30 min ferry to the beach and a buffet lunch worth about $15Aus. No commentary and no visit to the St Marys Bay with view of the spectacular estuary at one end of Whitehaven Beach. You are dumped ashore 8km from the postcard estuary view and lunch is slap bang in... More

Obviously, the beach is amazing going on for miles! The problem is that the weather was awful as it was heavy rain & the sea full of stingers which we chose not tempt! I'm sure that we'd have enjoyed it more on a sunnier day, although it is a very busy trip so might be too packed then? Staff were... More

An amazing beach but felt like a desert island!! We were dropped off without being told there were no toilets and we were left for 2 hours!!! There was nowhere to have a cup of tea either!!

Whitehaven Xpress Beach BBQ goes above and beyond Xcelllent ! First was the friendly informative long distance phone call. On the day collected at our hotel on time by a joyful minibus driver; welcomed at the wharf by cruisey crew members and jovial owners, cracking typical ozzie jokes most of the international passangers didn't understand, but what a hoot !!... Was amazing. Only downside was the marine stinger season and had to wear stinger suits. No shops on the island which kept it pristine, so take ur own water and food and remove your rubbish as well..

I booked the half day Whitehaven Picnic through Hamilton Island Tour desk. The spot is gorgeous with beautiful blue/green waters although swimming in these waters is at your own risk because of the Irukandji. They did offer suit suits to wear. The picnic lunch was very basic and didn't even include a can or bottle of drink. I thought for... More

I absolutely loved Whitehaven Beach. I travelled over with friends for a nice weekend away & to celebrate a combined 18th. We hardly drink so we all wanted to go somewhere beautiful instead & we chose Whitehaven. We couldn't have chosen somewhere nicer. I wish I could live over there. It's so gorgeous. If you're tossing up whether to go....... More
