Great falls at the bottom of a relatively easy walk. Beautiful tree ferns. Well maintained path. Access to falls at a number of points and seats to rest on the way back up if needed. Suitable for most people who are ambulant. Not really suitable...More

Quite a bit of a drive on a gravel road, narrow in parts, to get to these falls. About a 15 minute easy walk to the falls through beautiful manferns. Large logs lodged in the falls and at the base. Could be better signed as...More

We enjoyed the Liffey Falls. The gravel road in and put is quite narrpw and winding but luckily we had no problem. The walk to the Falls is fairly easy going down but quite a lot steeper going back. However there was enough water flowing...More

You either arrive at Liffey the "back way" through Liffey or off the A5 highway. If you're adventurous - take the back roads just look out for log trucks! Once you arrive at Liffey it can seem like a daunting walk to the falls themselves...More

Visited during a hot, dry period but still enough water flowing. A very nice walk in and attractive falls. We set out from the upper carpark. You will know that you are at the bottom cascade when you see a trail intersection and a sign...More

What a lovely morning out! We did the longer of the 2 walks. Which you take the left or the sign pointing to the campsite. The information says it's 3km each way but it's closer to 4km each way. In saying that it didn't take...More

It sure pays to do some research before coming here, and we were very glad to have discovered in advanced that the approach from the east requires a lengthy stretch on gravel, which we wanted to avoid. There are two ways to walk to the...More

The Liffey falls walk is a track to a beautiful part of our world. We were not disappointed, even though we visited in the middle of Summer. There was enough water to see the falls, and the kids kicked their shoes off for a quick...More

I did the Liffey falls track walk (at the fork on the gravel road take the left) which is signposted to be 3hrs return, however at a faster pace it only took me 1.5hrs. The walk is well maintained with slight inclines and declines, nothing...More

These falls are quite easily accessible from the top (20 min walk each way), and a little harder from the bottom (90 min walk each way). In the dry season there's not a lot of water, but there are some good safe pools for swimming....More

Definitely go to Cataract Gorge in Launceston. Driving up to Cradle Mountain is lovely but you need a whole day there as the tours are quite long. We stayed at Jackey's Marsh which we loved. Fabulous views of the... More
