The Archaeological Museum of Eretria is very easy to find, along the road running past Eretria, a lot of parking space. Very good for getting acquainted with local history. Strangely, captions in Greek and French only, no English. EU language policy after Brexit?

The museum is only two rooms but they are filled with treasures - many very old - from all over Greece - not just from Evia. The exhibit is a combined effort of the Swiss and Greeks, thus the notations are in Greek and French....More

Spent a half hour here with the well presented finds from three sites including Eretria. WC but didn’t see a cafe. Free car park. Site entry is free. Museum €3 (2017)

We first visited the mountain close by and had a guide who told us about the areas history, then we visitied the mosaik house and then this museum. So it was a good follow up to see the actual items we had been told about.

The museum has many interesting exhibits - notably an early kiln, a stone "tablet" showing the residents of the area in about 500BCE giving their names and family connections perhaps an early census for tax purposes? Well worth a visit.

I'll start with the issues to allow you to determine if they would put you off visiting. Firstly, the museum is pretty small and therefore doesnt take a great deal of time to look around - although this might be a good thing for you!...More

This museum is wonderful! Each room is decorated with so much passion. The explanations are in Greek and French. Maybe you should also add English. But each peace is placed in a very nice way. It is really a lovely museum!

It is basically one room that has ancient items inside of it. It's not expensive so if you are there, why not to go there. Note that the texts are only in Greek and France. So take your Google Translator with you :)
