Town square, dominated by the cathedral, and surrounded by bars, souvenir shops and the impressive arches of the casa consistorial - you can either go up to the castle district for the views (on foot or by bus) or wind your way back down to...More

The Plaza Major is average at best. As such it exemplifies Cuenca for us. Not really much of anything. Not much reason to go.

Typical town square with cafes and adjacent church. A good starting point to fuel up and explore the town. Best and fastest way to get to Cuenca from Madrid is the high speed train and the plaza mayor is only a short bus or tax...More

Although the impressive cathedral is at the heart of the square, the rest of it is a little boring actually, especially the opposite side of the square. But still worth walking around it. Shame about all the cars coming through, but there is no other...More

A nice place in Cuenca, large open square, though cars drive through it so take care when walking. Many restaurants around, cathedral on the top. It's a spot one won't miss in Cuenca.

Nice buildings and many restaurants, just like old town squares usually are. I liked this better at night time, when day trip tourists are gone.

The buildings here are beautiful, and make a wonderful backdrop for lunch or dinner. There are several restaurants to choose from, with reasonable prices, good food.

I visited 7 different plaza mayores in the towns around Madrid. This one is not a stand out amongst them. Better to head out of town a bit to see the marvel of contruction that put this town on the map.

It was very hot and we did not see as mush as we wanted. Signage was good and we were able to find public parking easily. People friendly
