A really disappointing trip to Mansfield Wines. The service was very poor and down right rude. They missed a great opportunity to explain their wines to a group of interested people, who ultimately were then treated with disrespect from the staff. Visitors were told that they only had 1 jug of water (on a 36 degree day) which is ludicrous.... More

Our bus arrived to see that the grounds needed a clean and mow. the wine tasting area looked good and well presented. But that was good as it got for me because it was a hot day they supplied minimal water and we were asked to use it sparingly and after a few glasses we all decided to leave because... More

On a very hot day we walked into a hotter cellar door to be greeted by a couple of blokes who told our large group who were the only ones there that the one jug of water was all we would get. They then proceed to insult individuals who did not have the palette for wine they expected. When one... More

We visit Mudgee every year and Mansfield Wines is always one of our stops. The man at the cellar door is always very knowledgeable although it does sometimes feel like he is on automatic pilot (he always tells us the same champagne story every year even though we tell him we've been there many times before) but I think that's... I've known owners of Mansfield Wines, Ian and Malcholm for many years. I finally got to Mudgee and visited them and tasted each of their wines and due to the flavour and palatability of the wines I've been back to purchase more. I like their Port "ops you can't call it that anymore" Mudgee VP. But just go there and... More

Found Mansfield after it was recommended to us on a stop in Rutherglen. Mansfield wines are largely Spanish and Portuguese varietals. All small batch really well made wines. Spent a couple of hours talking and tasting with the wine maker. Were well over the wine budget but couldn't leave with buying a case of some of the most interesting and... More

Just spent 45 minutes talking and wine tasting with Ian, the owner. As a wine lover, and having visited many European wine growing areas, it was very exciting to see typical but relatively little-known grape varieties transplanted into the Mudgee countryside. The wines produced here are atypical and exceptional! We could only buy a half doze him being in a... More

On a whim we popped in to Mansfield Wines. Although we visited many cellar doors this was the find of the trip. The wines are Mediterranean in style and the wine maker was certainly on for a yarn! We learnt so much just by chatting as we tasted. We couldn't believe how inexpensive these wines are considering the quality. Do... More

Whether it was the mid afternoon or whether the cellar door staff were just having a bad day and wanted to go home, the staff's attitude to our arrival was rude to say it politely. There were 6 of us and only two other young people tasting and we were treated like imposters. The wine list was snatched out of... More
