The hidden castle, really necessity once u are in the neighbourhood! Fantastic walk in the forest , it s not the season bow we we walked and been there alone with two dogs. Great views,great advanture. Castle itself was closed but that really didn't matter.

Out of the way but only 1 family has ever owned it. It is rick Steve's favorite. We were on a Viking river cruise & did a day trip - taxi, train, taxi, tram bus back to taxi, taxi, train, taxi. Well worth the planning.

We used google maps to get us to the car park which was very accurate. Once at the car park the two routes are signed and there is a person at the car park who can also assist you.

You may try Burg-eltz site there is a timetable for the burgenbus 330 from Hatzenport It looks like 10:28 12:28 16:28 18:28 times. I hope this helps
