The guide spoke excellent English and was very informative. We learned the land around the Castle has been handed down for 33-generations!! The Families have built three castles together, making one large castle. These are not Castle ruins, the family maintains an apartment in one wing. All very well maintained, giving you a real feel for life in a Castle.... More

We took the scenic 30 min light hike through the woods to get to the castle- lovely! The tour inside was interesting, kids loved the weapons etc. Had lunch on the terrace, great views. Pretty busy though, I guess there was a 30 min queue to get into the other main and busier parking lot ( because you have to... More

Hidden away this is a brilliant piece of living history, there is access to most of the rooms all of which are very interesting, with artefacts all around there is something different in every room. Our English speaking guide was excellent and knowledgeable. Be careful less than able bodied may struggle as its steep with plenty of steps

After 15 minutes walking in a green forest from the parking (cost 2 EUR), you will arrive to this beautiful eltz castle. They have there a family ticket for 2 adults + 2 kids at the cost of 28 EUR. You should check inside when the English tour starts, the tour is 30 - 40 minutes long. Great attraction for... More

The Burg Eltz is a very nice castle to visit if you pass-by the Koblenz-Trier region in Germany. We visited it in autumn and the scenery is simply amazing. I would recommend you not to take the bus to the castle and go via the pedestrian route which goes from the parking through the forest. Even if it is a... More

This was my favorite stop during our trip to Germany. The setting is so beautiful! We enjoyed the tour of the inside, seeing how people lived there. We enjoyed a cup of coffee at the outdoor cafe.

Definitely worth the visit if you are in Germany. Going there by foot from the main station takes around one hour and a half. If you are planning to stay in the region for few days, I would also recommend Cochem and Trier.

I've seen many castles in Germany, this one was the most beautiful of all of them. The castle is nicely situated in a valley, surrounded by hills. The guide was great, willing to answer any questions that came up. Highly recommend visiting!

The entire family voted this our favorite. A step back in time into life long ago. The tours were very interesting, informative and not rushed. The museum in the basement was wonderful with everything from dishes to jewelry. The café was delicious and reasonable along a great souvenir beer glass. The setting is beautiful and every room had interesting informative... More

Burg Eltz is one of those castle's that you're in awe. It's in the middle of nowhere, has pretty scenery and the castle is fantastic. There is a nice tour that will take you through the castle and it's exactly the type of castle that you're hoping for when you visit from a different country. Having visited many castle's in...
