A must see

The scared valley tour is one of the highlights while visiting Cusco. Definitely should be on your list of "must see". Great trip before or after Machu Pichu

My husband and I went on this tour to see as much as the sites as we could in one day. The tour is good for getting you around to see things in a short period of time however the time at the sites was so limited! We started by visiting the market spent 20 mins there. then onto site... More

I did a multi-day tour of Peru with my husband. It included a bus tour of the Sacred Valley, starting in Cusco. Our tour stopped in Pisac at the market and above the city at the Inca ruins and terraces of the same name. The tour ended at Ollantaytambo. The trip down the mountain from Cusco provided an amazing view... More

Leaving Cusco, the journey to Ollytaytambo is around 2 hours over mountains. Roads are generally good but winding in parts with drops on the lower side! The archeological site is excellent and our guide explained the history well. Be careful if you climb to the top due to the altitude which does have an effect. It is lower than Cusco... More

Mountain bike is a great way too see this area. The vistas are truly amazing - mountains, glaciers, clouds, open space, and ruins.

It may be tempting to just visit Machu Picchu and skip all that is in between Cusco and Aguas Calientes, but that would be a huge mistake. Missing the gems of Pisac and Ollantaytambo would mean missing two incredible Incan ruins and scenically quaint towns. There are many other important sites both historically and photogenically as well. Make sure you... More

Our group of four had a great time visiting the terraces of Pisac, the salt pools of Maras, the village of Chincero, the ruins of Moray and Ollantaytambo just prior to boarding the train for Machu Picchu. We took an amazing guide, Oscar, who was so kind and knowledgeable. He picked us up from the Cusco airport right on time... More

When you're at Cusco, don't hesitate to ask in every tour operator you find until you get the best price. It's worth it as an introduction to what are you going to find in Machu Picchu. Maras and Moray must be included within the tour. I'd recommend a one-day-tour if you're short of time, it's enough time to have a... More
