If you are in the Mai Chau area on a Sunday, a visit to Pa Co Market is a must. It is located about 20 km from Mai Chau town.
Each Sunday regional ethnic people, such as Hmong from Moc Chau and Tai from Mai Chau, bring their handmade produce to the markets, and they often dress up in their traditional costumes, providing a colour spectacle for visitors to the market and tourists.
If you are looking for an authentic souvenir to take home, look for hand woven materials, including silk wall hangings, baskets of various shapes and sizes, including the large baskets that villages carry on their backs when foraging in the fields and forests.
Even in the 21st century, Pa Co Market is a taste of the old rural Vietnam.
