This place is an easy drive from Ronda. The countryside is lovely and the hills are beautiful. However the walk to the theatre is uphill and arduous. we wimped out. But you can see one of the roman structures from the parking lot and the...More

As everyone says, it was advertised as open, but it was closed. So like everyone else, we climbed over the fence. A climb through the remnants of dozens of houses, now jeeps of rubble, the Forum, and the stunning amphitheatre. Then the view! Wow. It...More

We drove here to see it as we couldn't find any opening hours online. When we arrived it looked amazing, but unfortunately is closed on Mondays/Tuesdays. I've added a photo of current opening hours. From what we could see over the fence, I think it...More

Very interesting site with Roman ruins and great views. The site has the ruins of a Roman settlement, including a major house and a theatre, on the side of a hill. There is not as much as other more popular sites BUT - no crowds...More

We stopped on the way from Ronda to Setenil and although after checking opening times/days there was no one there, I guess due to time of year(late March). Normally I would have left but felt emboldened by other reviewers who said they climbed the gate...More

We drove from Ronda to Acinipo to see the Old Ronda, over 5000 years old with the remains of a Roman theatre. I had seen the details in the Palazio Mondragon. I had obviously read the opening days wrong or they had changed. We found...More

The excavations of Acinipo ruins is one of the finest ancient Roman sites you'll find in this region; abondoned houses with mysterious rooms, ruins; the amphitheatre has been much restored; you enjoy a nice view to the mountains.

If you like history or want some fabulous 360 degree views this is worth the drive. If it's not open just climb the fence. There are old Roman baths (termas) and the amphitheater (teatro). Learned later the piles of stones were houses that farmers later...More

Having made the long drive up to Acinipo near Setenil, we arrived to discover it was closed. This is a fairly typical annoyance in this part of Spain with no warnings about the closure of tourist spots generally made available before you arrive. Cueva de...More

There are no staff to assist with information, at least not on the day we were there. Hours are on the web site for Acinipo but they are subject to change. However, you can climb over the fence anytime.
