A very pleasant outing on the lake. We chose the hour ride and saw many birds some hippo and some game on the bank near the Credentials game park. There are many operators so if you are on your own you may want to try at Karagita beach which is about 3 kilometers off the main road to Nakuru. Costs... More

Much cheaper than visiting any of the other national park and you can actually walk among the animals! Great experience.

I took a boat safari on lake Naivasha and what a wonderful event it turned out to be. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya, outside the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County, which lies north west of Nairobi. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. Famous for its hippopotamus, it didn't let you down. In addition the... More

We visited this location as well as Maasai Mara during our visit to Kenya. This is a good location for a quiet timeout. The lake is touted as freshwater lake, but the water is dirty and stinks. However, the variety of birds is great and we saw many Hippos during our boating. We were however cheated by the boating people... More

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake located about an hour north-west of Nairobi. If you have good guide it would be great experience for you.

Contact Diane, John as your guide is a must! He helps you to spot the birds, and as your eyes get used to looking there is a real buzz spotting all types of heron and eagles. Wow do they look good flying or guarding their territory. So many varieties and colours, kingfishers and lots more to record. We were lucky... More

1. You need to hire a driver or take another form of transportation that will drop you off and pick you up. We traveled from Nairobi and hired an UBER to drive us to and from Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate for $70USD. The driver picked us up from our hotel and spent the entire day with us (6:30 AM... More

If you want to see hippos up close in the water, Lake Naivasha is the place to do it! Basically, you take a leisurely boat ride for around 90mins during which you see dozens of hippos wallowing in the water. You will also see giraffe, wilder beast and many different types of birds on Crescent Island. Our boat ride cost... More
