The Lapidarium was quiet, with few visitors, but was well worth a stop. You can get a close-up view of the type of statues and stonework that normally graces the tops of buildings and bridges. It's on a massive scale but with amazing detail. The time frame ranges from the 1200's to the 1700's, and the ladies at the front... More

A Lapidarium is where stone monuments and fragments of archaeological interest are exhibited. Prague's Lapidárium is fabulous and if you're in the neighborhood (only a few tram stops from Old Town) please go in and enjoy. The cost is but a small sum, yet the reward is huge.

It's not far from City center, just few tram stations. Big collection of sculpture from the 11th Century till the 19th. You can also see there the original Sculpture from Charles Bridge !!! Don't miss it. Put attention that during the winter the place is closed ( look at the pictures, I put the info about it)

The Lapidarium is part of the National Museum in Prague, which has different collections in different buildings across the city. This is slightly off the beaten track and we discovered it by accident when travelling between DOX (contemporary art gallery) and the National Gallery at Trade Fair Palace. What a delightful surprise. The building is located in a charming early... More

This is a great museum for folks who like to compare then and now, who would like to see the originals where there are now replicas on various iconic structures in the historical centre of Prague or, simply to view great works of sculptural art. The main highlights for me are: Second Hall: The statues that used to be on... More

This museum is well set out, and if you are interested in stonework, and statuary, this is well worth it. However, apart from the statuary and bits and pieces of masonry, there was not much else to see.

I have been at the Autoshow and when we were on our way out I have spotted "Lapidarium" sign. Both me and my friend had no clue what it means so we went in. It was one of my best museum experience in Prague. One thing I loved was that we were the only ones there at the time and... More

This is a little off the beaten track. It houses statuary from the 11th through 18th century. Some of it is statues that have been removed from other parts of the city including the Charles Bridge and have been restored to their former glory. Check it out in the surrounding park for a really nice excursion. It is very close... More

I think this place has so much to offer for history buffs, as well as anyone who feels strongly about statues and monuments. I was so impressed with the collection here, as it is comprised of originals from the 11th to 19th centuries, including some of those seen on the Charles Bridge. You wouldn't feel like you've wasted your time... More
