We went here on our first day, because in winter it is closed from monday till wednesday. It is not one of the must see sights, but it is worth the visit. It has a nice viewing platform with a beautiful panorama view over Prague. Inside the monument there is a little museum. The museum tells highlights in the history... More

I don't think the statue itself is that special (it is big and nice to see but not for me personally not a big thing) but, however, the view from the top is amazing!!! You can go to the 5th floor for just a few euro. You have a 360C view of the city! The woman behind the desk speaks... More

I went there for the first time in winter. The monument itself is pretty impressive, but what I like the most is the view of Prague you can get from there. The climb is a bit steep but very short, and on the top of the hill there is not only the monument, but also some playgrounds for children and... More

As the monument is in a hill, one can have a nice view of the city of Prague. Inside there are memorial places of Czech culture but to an outsider it might not be that relevant.

It's a really beautiful place to visit. There are breathtaking views from the national monument. The national monument itself is very beautiful and has great history behind it. Although it takes a bit of hiking in reaching the monument but it's worth it. The scenes from the monument are amazing. Highly recommended to everyone during their stay at Prague.

We had thought that some of the original statues from the Charles Bridge were here but they were not. It was sort of an interesting military museum but the staff of lethargic and not helpful. Lots of empty space. The view is excellent but it is a climb to make it to the top of the hill. I think I... More

Besides being a nice monument, it also features the tomb of the unknown soldier, a popular type of memorial in European cities. Pretty one, if you're around Praha 3, it's cool to give it a glance.

Okay not the easiest place to.get to but well worth the effort. The building itself rather ugly so allows the huge equestrian statue (the third largest in the world) to take centre stage. Here you can also visit the tomb of the unknown soldier and a small museum. It is worth visiting the viewing platform located on the roof of... More

The walk up to the monument was very nice, quite steep at parts but it appears there are several different paths to reach the top. The views were great from the top. It was very quiet when we visited, especially compared to the attractions in the main part of the city. It's worth a visit if you enjoy walking.

The National Monument at Vitkov is really intended for Czechs to learn about their history, particularly since WW1. The displays are predominantly in Czech, but there is sufficient English to make it understandable. Unfortunately, some of the videos were out of action. Very quiet -- just a couple of school groups when we were there. The view from the top... More
