The castle and surrounding archeological sights are fantastic !!! Very well kept and maintained and the guided tour was excellent ! St.Vitus cathedral is a truly grand and amazing sight!! A most see in Prague. Amazing medival senary and views. Just look out for the overpriced shoops for tourists on the way up. The only awful thing is the newlly added StarBucks next to the castle taking a loot of the scenary away. But since it seems like they will be in eve corner of the world soon I guess... More

This for sure is the main attraction in Prague, very easy to go to this location, you can get into the Hop on Hop off Tour or just take Tram from the National theater. Due to some event happening in Berlin and Paris so they have a security check at the entrance, this bit make a very long queue to... More

Worth the wonderful walk to the castle. You can walk round without paying and take it all in, but we bought the full tour so we could go into the exhibitions which are worth it. All of it is mesmerising. It's nice to see Golden Lane too which has original houses and information on the residents of these places. The... More

Having been up to the castle on previous visits to Prague I knew I wanted to show my daughter and father-in-law what a fantastic place it is. I booked an Uber taxi to take us from our accommodation and he dropped us in the bottom square pointed upwards and said castle. Not knowing any different we got out and then... More

This is a magnificent castle, complete with something for everyone and every time period. It is the largest castle complex in the world, with parts dating to the 9th century. It is also the residence of the President of the Czech Republic. Within the grounds, don't miss the outstandingly well preserved Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral dating back to the 14th... More

Prague castle is a place to go. You can take your time and stop often to take in the views. There is a little cafe there.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighbourhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
