Jan Hus was martyred and burned at the stake in 1415 as a dissident against the Catholic Church. He was was early in the Protestant movement. This statue from 1915 was made to symbolize the people opposing oppressive regimes whether they are governments or churches....More

A very nice statue in the middle of the main town square. Make sure you notice all the details. Read up on the man and you will enjoy it even more.

This sculpture is in the center of Old Town Square. I was looking for it and didn't realize it was right there. A lot of detail and interesting to read the history of Jan Hus.
