The Church of Our Lady Victorious was really nice to visit & houses the original Child of Prague. There is a little museum within the church too. It's close to the centre of the city & it's also on a couple of tram routes so it's easy enough to find.

The statue of the Infant of Jesus came from Spain where it was made during the second half of the 16th C. It measures 47 cms. It was brought to Prague and later donated to the monastery of Discalced Carmelites at the church of Our Lady Victorious. Pope Benedict XVI visited the church in 2009 and brought the crown to... As an example of Baroque architecture it's not the greatest but it is free entry. The wax image is surprisingly small and has an amazing range of clothing. Not to everyone's taste.

Nepříliš známý, ale naprosto úžasný a krásný kostel s bohatou výzdobou. Slavný především díky Pražskému Jezulátku. Úchvatné. This church isn't the most VIP church in the Prague, but probably the most beautiful one. This church is well know also to the Pragues Little Jesus which settle here. Must seen!

Beautiful chapel without any airs and graces. My wife and I attended Mass on the Sunday morning and although the service was in Czech we were able to follow it without any problem. There is also an English speaking Mass later in the day.If you are visiting in the winter I would recommend warm clothing as the chapel was extremely cold.... This church is home to the famous Infant Jesus of Prague (also known as 'IL Bambino di Praga'). It is said that the Infant Jesus has miraculous healing powers and it was the protector of the city against plague and destruction in the 30 years war. Probably a must-visit for devout Catholics.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
