Need to get away from the waves of tourists rushing over the Charles Bridge? Sick and tired of the lingering smell of trdelnik? Why not take in this beautiful graveyard? The overgrowth in some places really add to the atmosphere along with some of the...More

If you are staying at the Marriott Courtyard then take a stroll across the street (in daylight hours, of course) and take in a quiet walk among the tombstones, memorials and crypts. The age of the graves varies and the rows of crypts in various...More

When I travel, I sometimes visit cemeteries, many quite beautiful in scenic locations. Olsany cemetery in Prague is of the main road and not in the prettiest part of the city. But beyond it's walls, it is a huge park like property with tall trees...More

Very peaceful, with a variety of memorials from the last hundred years - cremations, tombs, simple graves, and a relatively overgrown area. If you find graveyards provide a peak into the heart of a city, this won't disappoint.

The Olsanske cemeteries is a much larger area to explore than you might think. I have been here several times but this was the first visit to the military section of the cemetery. A lot history, beautiful vegetation in the kept and unkept gravesides. Wonderful...More

Had a humbling walk through here and loved how overgrown with ivy this place has become. Some graves are so old they've been cracked and displaced by tree roots and its amazing to see how many stones are still decorated despite occupants dating from the...More

I can see this cemetery from my mom's flat. It's a really big cemetery, some of the grave markers are quite extravagant. There are some important people from Czech history buried here, though they aren't all famous. Kafka is probably the most well known person...More

I was there in June and saw people with dogs. Didn't see any no dogs allowed signs but tbh wasn't looking as as I was dogless 😊.
