The church was built in the 15th century, along with the core of the town. It is located in the city center, right by the large oblong town square. The view from its tower was said to be great by the locals - unfortunately we did not have the time to visit.

Jihlava town is located above Jihlava river. This town was founded in the 13th century. The St.James Greater Church is the main one in Jihlava. It is good to see it from different places. The town center is Masaryk Square. On it there are the town hall and the St.Ignatius Church.

You can go up the old town watch tower for less than a £1 - well worth a trip and the church is gorgeous.

The parochial Gothic St. Jacob’s' Church with the huge 60 m high tower with two bells (Jacob and Maria) was built in the 14th century. It soon burnt down and in the 15th century it was built again, as a late-Gothic two-aisled church. After the arrival of Jesuits (middle of the 17th century) the Black Chapel, sacristy and oratory were... More
