Museum is created in old historical mining area and also the guides are formal miner (or other mine employees - like engineers atd). They do their jobs with high enthusiasm.

They will take you the mine, explain the mining methods, show you the machines and tell some stories. If you expect to get 600 meters underground, you might be disappointed, they want let you so deep.

The place is amazing. A lot of history. The only problem is the guides don't speak English. So you can't understand the history. Only see things. But still a really nice place to visit.

Nice and educative trip for children very close to Ostrava. You can see the history of coal and mining all on one place. Highly recommended.

When working with renewables, visiting a black coal mine is a little like going to Jurassic. People must have been and are working very hard to earn a living. BR morten
