The building is made of sheets of metal from the ships. Big & not very attractive, but houses very interesting and well put-together exhibitions about Solidarity. You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. There is an audio guide included in the entrance fee, a little fiddly to figure out, but the commentary is good. You can listen to an overview... More

Learning how a labor union did so many great things for the fight for democracy was simply wonderful. Nice modern museum that was beyond what I expected from a simple tour. One of the highlights of Gdansk.

A bright, modern museum with lots of displays and videos. The head set/ hand set were easy to follow in English. The displays/descriptions could easily be converted to English also. It was okay in passing a couple of hours on but i personally wouldnt say its a " must see" kind a place unless you are a massive historian! There... More

We had a private tour guide for the old town and we walked to this centre. Bit of a walk from the old town about 15/20 min walk. 20zl entrance €5 approx. The centre is very big and modern. The actual tour you walk around is very good and in English and Polish. There are alot of videos and audio... More

As someone with a Polish mother I knew a little about the history of the solidarity movement in Poland. I'm not particularly interested in history, but found the museum fascinating as it had a mix of facts and also personal accounts. There was so much to see and learn about. I really liked the layout of the rooms and how... More

This museum is a must visit attraction. Give at least 3 hours to properly see everything. This museum is truly a work of art inside. The history of the Polish struggle against Communism and governments is explained and laid out in photographs and media displays. The Solidarity movement led by Lech Wałęsa and many others who gave their lives is... More

My family visited this centre mostly because Lech Walesa and his formation of the Solidarnosc movement was an important and memorable time in history which my husband and I remembered from our childhood. The museum is an amazing piece of architecture and the exhibition is extremely well curated. As you move through the different sections of the museum you learn... More
