The museum gets 5 starts for the view from the clocktower alone. We visited on Monday when the museum is free, but paid the extra 5PLN to climb the clocktower and enjoy the amazing view of the city. It is very tall so climb slowly! The rest of the museum is interesting and worth a look.

When we went there was no entrance fee and I am not sure why that was. This place is worth paying for. The main hall is just awesome. You will take plenty of pictures and will depend plenty of time here. Wow, wow, wow. So happy I saw this place. Don't miss it. You can also go to the top... More

There are a couple of rooms in this museum that are so impressive they leave one speechless. The ceilings and walls are so unique and beautiful, it is difficult to imagine anyone not being totally in awe of it. Fantastic! One can also climb to the top of the building ... Nice view of Gdansk from there....

This museum has better surely a Polish bank. Anything of value is behind huge glass panes and in each room there are guides. and camera. If you ask in English say all the guides "i dont speat english" Very much nice to look at - historical events during the war. Would so ask the guides, but could ONLY Polish language.unbelievable... In this holidays entrance is free - I think it's a good chance for see some moments form history of Gdansk. In the end you can see old photos from Gnask after WWII - it was totally destroeyd! But now we can see most of his beutiful buldings.

The museum covers the permanent exhibition: City Council meeting, coins, furniture, zone Free City and temporary exhibitions. Particular Red Room - pictures on the walls and ceiling and furniture. In the lobby, a unique wooden stairs. Sometimes you can climb up the tower, from where a beautiful panorama of the city.

You can skip those rooms with old pots and forks and enjoy the old meeting rooms that are beautifully rebuilt, an exhibit about the Free City of Danzig period, etc. The whole visit circuit is well marked. Pity though that so much in only in Polish. But don't worry there is also much in English and German.
