An impressive sight. I understand that the Germans pulled it down during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 but it is good that the effort was made to repair and erect it afresh.

The story behind the statue is amazing. The original column is still on view nearby. Go on the ' free walking tour' and get all story behind the statue.

this place is the most important spot in warsaw. this is the main meeting point of all tourists for the guided tours and the main central point of all visitors in the old town.

The square is very nice, rich of history, colorful building will draw a smile in your face, the square surrounded with restaurant and all I find them are considered affordable

It's a really good statue but not something great . But it has the free tours that start from there. GO even for the photo of the statue

While you visit the Old Town you probably see this monument. It is high and clearly seen in the square. I believe that most of you will spend not more then 15 seconds to get the impression.
