Here you will find local artist selling their art. The smaller version of the mermaid can also be seen here. There are benches around where you can sit and watch people walk by, talking the beautiful buildings around the square.

Central Mermaid statue and surrounded by restaurants and old restored buildings. Wonderfully reconstructed after WW2. So many buildings and monuments were destroyed by the bl**** Nazis, that they have done a wonderful job in reconstructing it and painting it again in all the beautiful pastel colours.

At New Year there was and ice rink surrounded by Christmas market stalls selling mulled wine and hot dogs. Friendly atmosphere!

Just a step outside of the Old Town, a lot to be seen and done, on spring and summer I think it would look a lot more livelier but still get a chance to go through the square and have a nice look at the buildings architechture.. not unique but as a whole it gives a really nice feeling

Of course, you will go see the market square on your visit to Warsaw. It's a beautiful piazza style square, with bars and restaurants around. There's the Mermaid statue in the middle, you may want to read about its significance as a symbol of Warsaw. On some afternoons, street artists and artisans gather there and give this square a wonderful... More
