Description:

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum...

The POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is the first and only museum dedicated to restoring the memory of the civilization created by Polish Jews in the course of a millennium.Museum's building faces the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Warsaw. The Museum completes the memorial complex. At the monument, we honor those who perished by remembering how they died. At the museum, we honor them, and those who came before and after, by remembering how they lived. As a museum of life, POLIN Museum engages with the present and opens out to the future. As an educational and cultural institution, the museum is dedicated to stimulating dialogue in the spirit of mutual understanding and respect. Museum's core exhibition is a journey through the 1000-year history of Polish Jews. Enter this theater of history where the story unfolds in acts and scenes as you walk. Immerse yourself in the story. Encounter those who lived in each period - their words are quoted throughout the exhibition. Enter the scene - a salon, tavern, home, church, synagogue, or schoolroom. There are surprises in drawers you can open, screens and objects you can touch, and much that you can see - artifacts, photographs, documents, and films. Each visit to the museum will be different. There will always be something new to inspire you!

The POLIN museum is by far one of the best museums I've ever been to. The depth and detail of the information presented in the exhibits is simply stunning. You cannot finish everything in one day, so plan to come back. The broad and expansive history of the Jewish people is not limited to one era in time - the... More

This museum is outstanding. It's very interactive and well designed. It has an excellent, fluid concept and takes you from the early days of the diaspora coming to central Europe to trade and how Jewish life developed from there. It takes you all the way up to the present day. The Jewish Street, as part of the pre war section... More

This is huge. And very comprehensive. The best part is probably the end, by which point you might be a bit too tired to take the most you can from it. It's also good value for students (Around 15zl)

We had read many reviews about this museum to establish how long we should plan to be there, whether there was enough for the kids (10,9,& 6) to do, what else we might d0 that day. The consensus seemed to be that 2 hours was sufficient. It wasn't. We got a really good price for 6 of us (65 Zl)... More

Almost too much to take in during one visit, such was the amount of information available. The audiotour is very worthwhile and helpful. Sad stories but real resilience. Still hard to believe that the mad men of ww2 did such dreadful things. Devastating

An interesting and informative museum, spanning 1000 years of Jews in Poland. Broken down into eras, the tour was easy to follow, with plenty of information we were able to read as much or as little as we wanted.

This museum was excellent. The exhibitions were varied and full of information, almost too much as I didn't have time to read everything. The building itself is stunning. I spent around four hours here, and could have spent more, so allow plenty of time if you want to get the most out of your visit.
