It is a must go

It is a must go, you just ask for Sirenka and people will point you to the center of old town. Unfortunately everything you see there was rebuilt due war.

The monument sits in the middle of the old towm which has been completely rebuilt after the Nazi's destryed it. A great old town ambience. Very nice.

In the heart of Old Town square. Take a minute to enjoy the surroundings. You will be in the square. It's a great time to people watch and do some shopping or enjoy a meal.

This is a lovely little statue in the heart of Warsaw's old town (rebuilt after WWII). It's by the sculptor Konstanty Hegel. The mermaid is the symbol of Warsaw and you find it on the city's coat of arms and other places. The old town square surrounding it is also lovely and it's definitely worth a visit.

You may call it "Warsaw Mermaid" or any other name as you like, but it is only another statue. This is an example of a sight that you should not spend time and energy in order to come and visit.

This statue is in the middle of the square and tells a lovely folk story. As a result of the 'good luck' story there are numerous mermaid statues and references to the mermaid all over Warsaw.

It was a nice statute to see and to hear of the legend about it. A symbol of Warsaw. Nice to see and take a pic of it but would not go out of your way just to find it.

You're probably going to go to this square, so take a minute and look at the statue. Once a group of Polish weightlifters lifted it.

Despite the utter destruction of Warsaw during WW2 and especially after the 1944 Warsaw uprising when the Old Town was completely destroyed by the German army this little statue survived the destruction intact. A legend in this city for centuries, the Warsaw Mermaid is on the city coat of arms and the legend attached to this little statue is fascinating. The... More
