Very easy access in the middle of the beautiful nature, 5 minutes to walk from parking (PAY), very refreshing water in the shade of tries. It is a small waterfall, but it is "must" see in Bovec. Totally recommended.

Very short route. 5 minutes of very steep descent and the same to climb back up. Swimming is prohibited. But the water must be at 6°C so the feet are already good! Of course, to park it’s €5 for 2 hours. There is no less. The other hiking and cycling path descends steeply. With 35°C instead of 26 expected, we were not motivated. Another path goes to a lake but incomprehensible to find the start.

Nice walk through forests, pass artifitial lake, to the waterfall. Nice waterfall, slippery rocks. Nice to swim, but could be crowded. If not keen of walking, there is a paid parking just above waterfall.

We drove here and unless we missed something, we couldn't find the parking area anywhere. Due to this we only managed to view the waterfall from the top of the hill. It looked nice all the same...

Near Bovec.
Not as known as other falls, but really beautiful.
A 5 minute walk from the paid parking lot (take coins or billets, no cards).
It is not a high fall, but in combination with the blue pond very worth your while.
There is also a trail to Pluzna (artificial lake) which is unimpressive and the Gljun source, which is nice.
There is also a adventure park with sort of canopy trail, but that looked closed when we were there.

The Virje waterfall is a nice goal for a hike from Bovec, and its an easy road to get there. A beautifull natural feature.

Getting there
We went by car to Pluzna. Go through Bovec and go past the church passing it on the left hand side and follow the road until you come to a small hamlet called Pluzna. Only small amount of parking spaces so we parked opposite the memorial but we did arrive early. You then will find signs near the memorial pointing you in the direction you need to walk
The walk there
We have a young family and I think it took us around 20 mins to walk. We did keep stopping. I'm sure I could do it in 10! Mid way along the walk you will see an information board giving you more detail on Virje falls. It's all down hill from there but remember uphill on the way back!
The falls
Absolutely amazing and a must if you're in the area. We loved it here. Being the summer the falls were at its weakest but it still made an impact and people were climbing the rocks to "shower" under the streams of falling water. There are two plunge pools both freezing but refreshing if it is a hot day. We found plenty of shade and there are even some decked areas. We enjoyed walking around the shallow areas, climbing rocks, sunbathing and of course a picnic was essential.
We stayed there around two hours.
What a thing to say that you've told under and swam in a waterfall.

The path which leads you to the waterfall is nice and easy. The view is outstanding and you can really fell the power of the water, but at the same time everything is peaceful.

Very nice waterfall, enjoyable especially when there is rather more water. It's possible to swim there, however water is very cold in there.

Wie weit kann man zum Wasserfall fahren? Im kleinen Ort rechts weiter?
Danke

Hello,
Is there a hiking trail from Bovec to the waterfalls?
Thank you
Written 16 August 2017
You can definitely walk from Bovec to the falls. Many people park inBovec and walk past the church to Pluzna or they park by Kanin and walk past the Golf course.
When you reach Pluzna the trail is well signed and becomes more rugged.

Where is the best place to park and walk until the waterfall (between 20-30 min)?

Buongiorno a tutti.
È.possibile raggiungere le cascate(salvo l'ultima parte) con una Fiat 500L? La strada come è? Asfaltata?
Grazie in anticipo
Written 18 July 2017
