Most people who visit old town Ljubljana go to see the cathedral (and it is definitely worth a visit). However, this smaller church is also worth your time. This church is easy to find. It is located on Preseren Square (right across from the triple bridge). It was originally red, the symbolic colour of the Franciscan order, but it has... More

Nice place to spend the afternoon over there and enjoy having coffee in the sunshine with a view of the castle above.

Built between 1646 and 1660, the church is located on Prešeren Square and can't be missed recognized by Its red color is symbolic of the Franciscan monastic order (It's quite pink actually). If you look at the main entrance door and look out at the square you see bronze statue of the Slovene national poet France Prešeren but his mistress... More

It is located on Preseren Square and makes a lovely photographic backdrop to the square. It was originally red, the symbolic colour of the Franciscan order, but it has faded to a more salmon pink colour today. Since 2008, it has proudly been deemed a cultural monument of national significance and protected. It was built between 1646-1660 and has a... More

This is the beautiful salmon-pink Church which appears in every photograph of Ljubljana! The Parish Church for Ljubljana, the interior is a lovely example of Baroque Architecture with ornate marble, painted murals, Side Chapels and a grand Altar. I was able to visit mid-morning. There were several local Parishioners praying so it wasn't appropriate to wander around, but it was... More

The salmon pink façade of the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation really grabs your attention because of its location and bold color. The church dominates Preseren Square; it can be easily seen from the Triple Bridge; and it shows up in my photos taken from the Fountain of Three Rivers. This is probably the most photogenic church in town. Inside,... More
